Dungeons


FFXIV players are interested in making Gil as quickly as possible for all sorts of reasons, whether they're buying more weapons or customizations to their characters, getting one of the game's cool mounts, or putting down a deposit on a house. In theory, the best ways to make Gil consistently involve crafting or gathering -- or a combination of those activities.


But the most obvious method of passively accruing Gil in FFXIV involves running dungeons and other challenges. For instance, the Old Sharlayan leves (which can be accessed through the Duty Finder or the Free Company party system) are a great way to make tons of Gil over the course of an hour by killing a number of creatures with high levels. The items a player gets from completing these leves -- like furnishings, mounts, and unique dyes -- can also be sold on the Market Board for a profit. However, players must remember that the 'Leve Allowances' they receive from completing leves are limited and recharge at a rate of only three every 12 real-world hours.


Guildleves


Guildleves are quests that can be completed by members of a guild. They reward gil, Guild Marks and treasure, and require the player to travel across Eorzea using aetheryte teleportation portals and hunt monsters in specified locations. There are battle-faction leves, which have a time limit and require the player to kill a set number of monsters, as well as field-faction leves that require the player to collect items in specific areas.


These can also yield additional rewards, such as a Retainer Venture, which is a way to earn gil without killing anything. Retainer Ventures aren't the most profitable way to make gil in Final Fantasy XIV, but they can provide a steady stream of income if players know what they're doing. Retainer Ventures can be particularly lucrative during the initial phase of a new patch, when prices for minions are boosted. These minions can be sold on the market board for a decent amount of money.


Class Quests


One of the chief ways to make gil in FFXIV is through class quests. These job-specific tasks often involve gathering, crafting or combat. While this is not a guaranteed way to earn Gil, it is a reliable source of money for many players.


There are some high-level FATEs that will yield a large amount of Gil, especially if the player is lucky enough to find a rare item. However, this is a risky way to earn Gil and can take a lot of time.
Players can also sell items on the market board, though this is a risky way to earn money since the price of certain items can fluctuate. In addition, the time spent putting the item up for sale can be better used for other methods of earning gil in FFXIV.


Retainer Ventures


Retainer Ventures in Final Fantasy 14 are a great way for players to make a steady income. These NPCs will go on ventures for you and bring back rewards that can be sold for gil. Depending on the type of gear you have and the level of your retainer, the rewards can be good or bad.


Unlike dungeons, ventures do not require a player to be present to complete them. However, a player must acquire venture currency to send out their retainer. This can be done by completing leves, beast tribe quests, or by turning in company seals.


A player’s retainer will receive experience after completing each adventure, increasing their level and unlocking new ventures. Each venture has a chance of yielding a rare item, and the higher the rank of the adventure, the more valuable the reward. A Rank XIII venture will yield Taffeta Cloth or a Light Steel Plate, crafting materials that can sell for a lot of money.
