It is said that true love never runs smoothly. No relationship is perfect, and both parties must put in the work to keep the relationship strong, happy and healthy.

However, in modern times, too often, we turn our backs on a loving relationship rather than face the adversity and find our way back to one another. Here at Life Resolutions, we believe in mending connections rather than discarding them. Sometimes, all a couple needs is the assistance of a psychologist, who can act as an outside observer and provide clarity on a disagreement, an open space for healthy communication, mechanisms on how to live together, or anything else your relationship may require.

Couples Counselling At Life Resolutions

At Life Resolutions, our principal psychologist Mary Magalotti, CEO and Founder, Jodie Brenton and our team of mental health professionals are passionate about providing quality counselling to couples to help them to overcome difficulties and to strengthen their relationship.

From years of experience in providing relationship advice and marriage counselling services, the Life Resolutions team have found a few lessons on how people deal with love and relationships.

Often it is our loved once that we hurt the most. Love leads to extraordinary acts of sacrifice and compassion, but also to incredibly selfish, destructive behaviour. The Life Resolutions team have found that these phenomena often are based on the strength of a person’s desire. More than anything, people want to love and to be loved in return. When those feelings are bought into conflict, they feel betrayed, angry and most importantly, humiliated. That feeling of humiliation hurts a person deeply, creating a powerful surge of unregulated emotion. This surge can lead them to hurt those they love the most because Life Resolutions. But even when people say harsh things and wound another person’s feelings, the love still remains. After all, this love is the origin of the conflict.

Couples counselling is about recognising that love and addressing the real issues present in the relationship observed by life resolutions. In doing so, we help partners find their way back to the loving relationship they once had and can have again. Sometimes, people just need a little clarity and a push in the right direction.

Mary Magalotti On Knowing When To End A Relationship

While we believe in fighting for love, there are still times when a relationship is no longer serving either party or when abuse and disrespect are present. In these cases, it is time for that relationship to end. Our psychologists can help to identify when a relationship is toxic and unhealthy.
